Use our Shawarma Spice Mix to get as close to traditional Shawarma as possible, without installing a vertical rotisserie in your kitchen. Shawarma is actually more of a process where meat such as lamb, chicken, etc. is sliced thinly, skewered and placed on a vertical rotisserie where it roasts for hours. Meat is then sliced off and served on a plate with rice or as a sandwich or wrap. It is usually eaten with tabbouleh, fattoush, hummus, taboon bread, tomato, and cucumber.
Try marinating 1 lb boneless chicken breasts with 1 lb boneless chicken thighs up to 24 hrs in a mixture of 3 Tbl Shawarma Seasoning Mix, 2 Tbl Lemon Juice, and 3 Tbl Olive Oil. Add 1/2 of a medium white onion cut into slices and bake at 400 degrees F for 40 minutes and then increase temperature to 425 degrees F and cook another 15 min. Shred chicken and pair with a cumin seasoned yogurt sauce, chopped parsley and the side dish of your choice.
